Crisp is my second Lukehaven Icelandic Sheepdog. I am so in love with the first one (Sprite), that I just had to have one more. He has turned out to be more than any of us expected. First and foremost, he is the best pet ever. He loves everyone he meets, but children are his favorite. He can be excitable at times but is always gentle when he meets them.

His sire is Loren’s Roy, which means his grandsire is Luke. Loren tells me he reminds her of both of them. I feel so lucky. We decided to enter him in conformation shows and he did very well. The year 2024 was an outstanding one for him. Not only did he end up as the number one Icelandic Sheepdog in the country for the year, he became only the third one to win a Best in Show in the USA. It was so exciting.

In 2025, we scaled way back on conformation to concentrate on agility. He is doing well for a beginner. He already has his Novice title in FAST and Standard and his Open title in Jumpers. I’m excited to see how he progresses. My agility trainer says he is very smart. He is a hard worker who likes nothing more than coming home after a trial and climbing in my lap to relax.
